Traditional server momentum reflects an urgent modernization cycle, with ~1.2Mn assets still on 14G or older hardware. Dellโs 18G servers target 12โ14:1 consolidation versus 6โ8:1 on 17G. Storage demand is expanding alongside compute as AI drives KV cache, agentic logs/traces and multimodal data. Physical AI will amplify this.
Dell is first to ship rack systems based on NVIDIAโs Vera Rubin platform. AI customers exceeded 6,500, with 3,300 added in three quarters, signaling broader enterprise adoption. Lightning, its native-AI parallel file system, remains in beta.
