As a lifestyle statement, the OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G dazzles, and catches user attention with its sleek design, complemented with a unique, premium finish. I simply loved the Astral Blue variant of the smartphone. The Reno5 Pro 5G comes with a 6.55-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels. The smartphone supports upto 90Hz refresh rate and comes with 180Hz touch sampling rate.
The OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G sports a curved super AMOLED screen. It has 90Hz refresh rate with support for HDR10 and HDR10+ high dynamic range formats. The display on the smartphone is very vivid and responsive. I found the new fingerprint unlock animations and colour profiles cool.
Performance
The new OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ a flagship grade SoC based on the 7nm fabrication process. MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ excels in terms of overall performance. It was able to handle my always-on work mode, and ensured a smooth performance throughout daily. Even, in terms of gaming, the phone was able to handle all the major games, without any frame drops.
Battery
The OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G benefits from OPPO’s expertise in battery innovations, and specifically, swift charging times. The Reno5 Pro is powered by a 4,350mAh battery. I was able to get almost eight hours of juice on the phone. For an always-on person, what’s incredible is the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charger which amps-up the battery juice to 100% in as little as 35 minutes!
Camera
All this brings us to the all-important camera, and the video experience.
The camera system on the Reno5 Pro packs a punch for creative professionals. The phone comes with a quad camera setup on the rear. The camera set-up includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor, a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP mono sensor. There is a 32MP selfie camera on the front.
I personally enjoyed using the camera on the Reno5 Pro 5G. The camera works well across varying light conditions, capturing details nicely, and bereft of any noise or distortion.
Consider the dual-view video: It’s a boon for vloggers interested in recording their life moments. Imagine being able to shoot simultaneously from both front and back cameras, and stitch the video together on the phone, eliminating the need for heavy editing.
Similarly, other video modes, including the AI Colour Portrait, Ultra slow motion, ultra steady video, and monochrome video – offer cool means to generate creative content.
