As the primary go-to device, the smartphone plays a key role in consumer lives, when it comes to capturing life’s most important memories. Our memories reside in the many photos that we capture daily to document our lives. For smartphone OEMs, the smartphone camera is a key battleground for innovation. While successive iterative innovations have raised the bar for smartphone photography to such an extent that they now deliver better or, on-par results like the cameras of the yore. The best smartphone cameras pack more pixels than the traditional, expensive cameras. Yet, there are limitations and challenges that smartphones face, for example, with respect to low light, or night photography. With the new Vivo X50 Pro from vivo, there is a whole new finesse and professional grade photography made possible.
As one of the top three smartphone brands in India, vivo has taken silent and steady strides in pushing forth new innovations to elevate user experiences, especially when it comes to the photography with the X50 Pro. This new launch marks an ambitious foray for Vivo into the premium smartphone segment.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC, the smartphone comes with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The series features a high screen refresh rate of 90Hz, displaying crisp images, movies, and games without smears or blurs.
The X50 Pro is a phone that truly shines in low light conditions and night photography. The vivo X50 Pro comes with a 48MP quad camera system, that comes with a custom Sony IMX598 sensor with f/1.6 aperture. It is paired with an 8MP super wide-angle camera, a 13MP portrait lens and an 8MP periscope lens for 5x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom. The stabilization is taken care of by the GIMBAL camera system paired with OIS and EIS.
The X50 Pro’s built-in GIMBAL module allows one to take clear photos and videos while in motion, even at night. The X50 series features Super Night Mode 3.0, Extreme Night Vision and Astro Mode, while Super Wide-Angle and Super Macro functions help create professional-quality photos in a wide range of scenarios. vivo’s Portrait Mode, powered by a 50mm professional portrait lens, allows users to separate the subject from the background and apply separate effects for a more refined result.
What the Gimbal Camera System in vivo X50 Pro is able to deliver, when compared to OIS and EIS, is more stabilization and countering motion shaking. This helps in better photography in low light conditions. It also helps in preventing image distortion or cropping, providing better, clear photos. In extremely low light environments, exposure time is further extended to allow more light to enter, thus getting more information about details in dark areas.
Vivo has been able to bring together and deliver on the overall photography experience: whether it be through supreme low light photography, clear motion photography, or heightened zooming capabilities.
